ESthetics: Review | Ichiko Bento - August Box

Hello beautiful earthlings!

Yesterday, I have received Ichiko Bento's August box. After the first box, I looked forward to receiving the August box. But to be honest, my excitement wore off after a couple of messages from the company saying that they had to push back the dates. I further express my feelings towards Ichiko Bento towards the end of this post. But for now, let's have a little show and tell of their August box.

Like I mentioned that my excitement wore off for the August box but when I opened the box, I got a little excited seeing the full sized products.

I am a classic bento subscriber so I received 6 items. Deluxe subscribers would receive more items.

Like I mentioned, I got a little excited when I saw Nature Republic Aloe Vera and Innisfree's No Sebum Mineral Powder since I have been wanting to try them out for the longest time!

  1. Cosrx Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser - $10.34
  2. Nature Republic Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera - $6.60
  3. Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder - $7
  4. Benton Papaya-D Sun Cream SPF 38 / PA +++ - sample size
  5. NMF Aquaring Ampoule Mask Ex - $2.37
  6. Ooh La La Clear Pouch - ₩2000
This comes to a total estimate of $28.31 which can be estimated to as £21.12. This means that I saved about £7.29 (I based this price of the 3 month classic bento box). Again, if you want something that is good for value, go for the boxes.

I have a few disappointments when it comes to Ichiko Bento. First of all, their communication to their subscribers is poor. I regularly checked their Instagram and Facebook for updates regarding the August box. The last update on their Instagram was over a month ago without explanation of the box delays. The issue of delays were only answered when clients ask them what the progress was. I was only notified about the delay when September already arrived which disappointed me a lot.  This was not very proactive of them. Another thing to point out is that their website is not updated with the current box and they should look into updating this.

Second is that there is no introduction booklet of what items are featured in the box which was included in the previous box. I quite love little details like this as it makes the subscription box more personal. I assumed that they would have this little detail since the box was delayed for that long.

I suggest for Ichiko Bento to plan ahead and have everything ready at least a month or two prior to delivery to clients to avoid delays. There was already a delay in the July box and it happened again for August. Hoping that this would not happen for the September box but I have that feeling that it will. I hope that Ichiko Bento will prove me wrong on this.

Despite my criticism, I still think the products they offer in their boxes are exceptional. It is their communication towards their clients should be improved.

Check out Ichiko Bento and what the offer on their website. I provided links throughout the blog post.

Peace and Love,
